PRTC MISSION STATEMENT

The purposes of the Prospect Republican Town Committee are:

·         To encourage capable Republicans to run for and win elections;

·         To organize election campaigns;

·         To support legislation concerning Prospect;

·         To be active in political activities, State and Federal;

·         To be active in community affairs; and

·         To support Republican-endorsed candidates nominated for public office.

The Republican Town Committee consists of forty (40) members who are elected at large from the Town of Prospect.  No person may be considered for the Republican Town Committee unless they are enrolled Republicans in the Town of Prospect.

The term of the Republican Town Committee members is two (2) years or until their successors are chosen, and the term will not exceed twenty-six (26) months.  The term commences on the first (1st) Monday following the date of the primary.

The date for primaries for the election of Republican Town Committee members is the first Tuesday of March in even-numbered years.  The date for choosing party-endorsed candidates for the Republican Town Committee membership is in accordance with State Statutes.  Endorsement is at large.  No proxy voting is permitted.

Re-endorsement for regular membership on the new Republican Town Committee is not permitted for candidates who have not attended 50% of their previous term’s meetings, unless it is determined by the Executive Board that they have been performing other services to the Republican Town Committee.
